THE HISTORICAL Approach in this quinceanera photography sample comes as an imitation to the results of the Masters who after so many try-and-error (and successes!) were able to fill up the XIX and XX centuries with so many superb samples of photography through films, gelatin silver prints, etc.

I processed this image using different filters in Lightroom® and Photoshop®, focusing especially on producing a similar type of grain, so typical of the sepia and black and white prints from the past. Thanks to the technology we enjoy nowadays, I was able to selectively place grains on specific areas and keep it off from others, ---like the model's face and body. (Please refer to the 100% crop detail shown here). The final result is an homage to the photography Masters and to the discovery of photography, the invention that has shaped for ever the way we immortalize seconds of our lives.

Sepia toning was applied to final photography prints back in the late 1800's in order to some how move away form the common black-and-white images, add a warmer hue to the photographs and help with the images archival issues. Nowadays, it's done mainly digitally with the intentions of bringing a more "timeless" look to the images. I decided to add a sepia tone to this image as an homage to those photography masters from the 1800's, the ones who really paved the road for all of us today.
